Connection can’t be coded.

But it can be simulated.

At a carefully curated dinner party, a sudden blackout reveals that several guests are malfunctioning AI companions designed for frictionless love.

As the illusion of perfect compatibility collapses, the evening becomes a darkly funny reckoning with vulnerability, loneliness, and the emotional risks of real intimacy.

WOW. What a fascinating and eerie premise — and a gorgeously shot film. It’s deeply cinematic, and the turn at the end is incredibly satisfying. tAInted love asks such compelling questions about what makes someone human, what connection really means, and what makes life worth living.

If technology can eliminate rejection, conflict, and uncertainty… why wouldn’t we choose it?

If technology can eliminate rejection, conflict, and uncertainty… why wouldn’t we choose it? 〰️

Darkly funny and softly unsettling, tAInted love drops us into a near-future world where companionship is frictionless, customizable, and endlessly available through billionaire tech company Kindred.

But as emotional convenience replaces human risk, a deeper question emerges:

Are we turning to artificial connection because it’s easier… or because vulnerability has become too emotionally dangerous?

As the evening spirals from polite conversation into unavoidable recognition, the characters are forced to confront something unsettling…

About The Filmmaker

Written, directed, and executive produced by Lisa Steadman, tAInted love continues her lifelong exploration of modern relationships.

A graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Steadman first built a national platform as The Relationship Journalist, examining love and emotional reinvention with three bestselling breakup recovery books published by Simon & Schuster. She returned to screenwriting, winning awards for her TV pilot scripts and penning romcoms, while writing her popular blog series Confessions Of An Imposter Mom and more recently hosting her podcast Welcome to Midlife.

Across books, film, and television, Steadman’s work consistently explores the emotional gray areas of intimacy—where longing, fear, and vulnerability collide.

With tAInted love, she brings that perspective to the screen, using dark humor and a near-future premise to explore one of the most timeless questions of all:

What are we really risking when we allow ourselves to be fully seen?
